We are hiring a programming instructor for a 6-month contract at a school in Johar Town, Lahore, starting January 2025 and ending in May 2025. This role involves teaching Scratch (a low-code platform developed by MIT Media Labs) to early years and elementary-age students.
 

Class format:

• Schedule: Classes will be held every Friday from 8 AM to 12 PM, with a total commitment of 4 hours per week.

• Student Groups: The program is designed for elementary school students (ages 4-10 years)

• Engagement: The focus will be on creating a fun, interactive, and engaging learning environment for young students while building foundational programming skills.

Locations:

Classes will be conducted onsite at a partner school in Johar Town, Lahore.
 

Requirements:

• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Scratch and computer science fundamentals.

• Teaching Skills: Enthusiasm for teaching young children, with a creative and engaging approach.

• Availability: Must commit to the entire January–May 2025 period for Friday half-day sessions (8 AM–12 PM).

• Equipment: A functional laptop with the necessary specifications to deliver lessons effectively.

• Professional Skills: Strong communication skills in English or Urdu, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

• Transport: Instructors are expected to arrange their own logistics to and from the venue.

• Compliance: Adherence to Code School’s child protection policy.

What will we provide:

• Pre-designed curriculum and lesson plans for Scratch.

• Training and coaching before the program begins.

• Administrative and logistical support during the contract period.

Pay Scale:

Instructors will be compensated at a rate of PKR 8,000 per day, inclusive of all instruction and transportation costs, for their commitment to the program. Please note that this role does not include eligibility for paid leave.
 

Payment mode:

PKR Bank transfer by the 10th of every month on submission of correctly filled out payment request form with all supporting documentation.
